Law enforcement officers and the Wise County commonwealth attorney’s office on Friday presented a check for $6,130.67 to the Southwest Virginia Children’s Advocacy Center at Mountain Empire Older Citizens in memory of Emma Baldwin. The 2-year-old was murdered in late 2012 by her mother’s boyfriend. Authorities set up a fund to pay for Emma’s headstone and unpaid funeral expenses. Friday’s donation was of money that remained after Emma’s expenses were met.
