State swimmers

Five local swimmers representing three different schools recently competed at the Virginia High School League’s Group 2A/1A State Swim and Dive Championships at Christiansburg Aquatic Center. Union senior Dylan Mabe placed third in the 100 Butterfly, while Andrew Price, a senior at J.I. Burton, placed fifth in the 100 Freestyle competition. Swimmers who competed in the state championships include, left to right, Central’s Ethan Elkins, Union’s Mabe, Burton’s Price, Central’s Alyssa Mullins and Central’s Katherine Dotten.
