Jimmy Fawbush was fishing at the Norton reservoir Wednesday afternoon when a fierce thunderstorm tore through the city. This scene is just up the High Knob road from Norton’s Legion Park. He asked a city worker to shoot the photo. Fawbush spotted similar damage on Hagan Avenue NW. Electricity was off briefly in some areas. According to Norton Emergency Management Coordinator Todd Lagow, emergency services also responded to a report that a home may have been struck by lightning, with a nearby tree on fire after striking a power line, and responded to a tree limb striking a power line near Mountain View Regional Hospital. Lagow is also aware of reports that a tree fell at Burton High School and at a Craig Street home.
