Wise County Sheriff Ronnie Oakes presented Josh Jessee and DeAngela Stidham with the Virginia Sheriff’s Institute Public Safety Scholarship Award. This scholarship is allocated to students planning to major in criminal justice and attend a Virginia college. Jessee graduated from J.I. Burton High School and will be attending Mountain Empire Community College. Stidham graduated from MECC and is seeking a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University.
