Members of Coeburn’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8652 lead the way Wednesday during a parade kicking off celebration of Loyalty Day. Also participating were town police, various fire departments, town government officials and others. Loyalty Day, observed annually on May 1, began in 1921 as a way to draw attention from communist celebrations of May 1 as International Workers Day.
