McDonald’s Farm

Wise County Cooperative Extension Office was given the privilege this year to manage the Old McDonald’s Farm at the VA/KY District Fair. Four Extension employees and 18 volunteers worked together to make this year’s farm and exhibits a success. Volunteers consisted of 4-H teen members and 4-H adult volunteers. During the week there were many activities sponsored by the Wise County extension office including face painting by 4-H teen members, many livestock demonstrations and exhibits. 4-H members who placed their livestock on exhibit through the week included Brody and Mason Gillenwater, Will Robinson, and Colton Grigsby. The extension office would like to thank those who donated their time and livestock to make this year’s McDonald’s Farm a success. A special thank you goes to All Indoor Farm Store and Tractor supply for their generous donation of feed and supplies. Also we would like to thank the fair committee for giving us this opportunity to share our love of agriculture with the community.
