Greg Whittaker of Pound had the idea and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9600 helped execute a rousing, flag-waving tribute for Veterans Day. The display lines U.S. 23 Business on the approach into downtown Pound. Each of the American flags bears the name of a Pound native who has given the ultimate sacrifice in fighting for his country, beginning with World War I. Each family represented is welcome to have a flag when the salute comes down after Veterans Day. RODDY ADDINGTON PHOTO
