From left, Cleveland Mayor David Sutherland, Dungannon Mayor Debra Horne and St. Paul Mayor Kyle Fletcher display signs officially designating their towns as ‘Hometowns of the Clinch’ during an event Thursday in St. Paul’s A.R. Matthews Park. The towns are the first communities in the Clinch River watershed to achieve the designation. Communities within the Clinch River watershed can pursue the designation, which is led by the Clinch River Valley Initiative’s downtown revitalization action group. Receiving the designation requires communities to meet several thresholds aimed at strengthening community engagement and appearance to create a unified image for the region. KATIE DUNN PHOTO
