Participants in last Saturday’s inaugural Taking Strides for Autism 5K Run/Walk gather at the starting line. The event helped raise awareness about autism and generated about $2,700 — $300 shy of its $3,000 goal — toward purchasing items to create a multi-sensory environment at Norton Elementary/Middle for autistic students or those with other developmental delays or special needs.
