While Pound council considers plans to fix its sewer system problems, a recent accident added a short-term concern. The construction crew overhauling this bridge into the downtown area was driving steel bridge pilings last month and punctured a sewer line, increasing daily wastewater flow into the plant by about 200,000 gallons. Mayor George Dean hopes the line will be fixed by mid-August; meanwhile, wastewater is being pumped around it. JEFF LESTER PHOTO
