Customers stand in line March 7, waiting for the grand opening of United Grocery Outlet’s new Norton store. Company officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the store, located in the former Ingles space in the Virginia-Kentucky Shopping Center. United Grocery, founded in 1974 in Etowah, Tenn., specializes “in handling inventory imbalances, closeouts, packaging changes, close-dated product, factory seconds, and trial run products.”
