RODNEY DOTSON

Rodney Dotson, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN.

He attended the Wise First Church of God, was a U.S. Army Veteran, an employee of Hills Equipment Sales in Wise, Va., a retired employee of John Deere and a former employee of Shelton-Witt.

Rodney enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and cookouts.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Dotson.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Sharron; son, Aaron Dotson and wife Marlayna; daughter, Sasha Dotson and Brian “Shorty” Moore; grandchildren, Alexandra Dotson, Ethan Dotson, EJ Dotson and Oliver Dotson; former daughter-in-law, Andrea Dotson; his mother, Ollie Dotson; two sisters, Brenda Hall and husband Jimmy and Sharon Goodson; brother, Steve Dotson and wife Debbie; sister-in-law, Judy Cain and niece, Cynthia Cain; several other nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Rodney Dotson will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the Wise First Church of God 702 East Main Street Wise, VA 24293 with Pastor Gary Maggard officiating. The Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Church. Graveside committal services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Wise Cemetery. Burial will follow. Family and friends will meet at 12:40 P.M. Wednesday at the church to go to the cemetery in procession.

In lieu of flowers the family request the memorial contributions be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital – P.O. Box 50, Memphis TN 38101-9929.
