John I. Burton High School teacher Ashley Addison and Principal Brad Hart accept the Virginia Board of Education's Highest Achievement Exemplar Award on behalf of the school during the School Board's Monday meeting. Burton was one of 48 schools to receive this award, which is given to accredited schools that meet state benchmarks in reading, math and science, have all student groups meet state benchmarks in reading and math, as well as have no more than five percentage points of performance between the lowest performing group and all other students.
