In 1953, two of the Interstate’s brand-new Alco RS-3 diesels are headed for Miller Yard, Virginia with a train at Tacoma. Most of the coal was delivered earlier by the L&N at Dorchester Junction. (H. L. Stuart Photo-Interstate Railroad)
