Dale Riddle and Jason Hughes — who both farm in Pound — recently completed Virginia Cooperative Extension’s master cattleman program. The classes consisted of seven sessions including economics, nutrition, forages, reproduction, genetics, herd health and marketing. The goal of this program is to provide beef producers with essential knowledge in all these areas. It also provides beef producers the opportunity to learn all of the needed information to successfully raise cattle. ISABELLA MAGGARD PHOTO
