LARRY COLLIER

Larry Collier, 67, of Pound, entered into eternity Wednesday December 11, 2019 from the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief battle with pancreatitis. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was Christian of the Baptist faith. He had attended Martha’s Chapel Church and Mt. Zion Church. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was former heavy equipment operator and was self-employed in the logging business as well. Larry was a cattle farmer and had horses and sheep as well.

He was a member of the Coalfield Beef Cattlemans Association. He loved the outdoors. Every stranger he met became a friend. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Larry was an inspiration and a light for others. He loved his family, especially his grandbabies and they loved their Paw.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Otis and Mary (Raleigh) Collier; a grandson, Logan Jase Collier; and brothers Arnold Collier, Millard Collier, Monroe Collier, Chester Collier and Arlie Collier Sr.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45years, Jill (Slemp) Collier; a daughter, Amber Boggs and husband Justin; sons, Jarrod Collier and wife Ashley, Brett Collier and wife Carissa, Ryan Collier and Stacy Collier, all of Pound,; grandchildren Chance Boggs, Alex Collier, Lexie Collier, Shawn Collier, Kyla Collier and Jaxon Collier; sisters Mabel Mullins of Pound, Edith Dippery-Round Rock, TX and Rhonda Peake and husband Dwight-California; brothers Cecil Collier and companion Pat Phillips of Pound and Doug Collier and wife Judy of Eolia, KY; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn his passing and cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm Friday, Dec. 13 in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Slemp and Reverend Joel Cantrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of services.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Collier Family Cemetery in Pound where Dakota VanHuss, Alex Collier, Shawn Collier, Chance Boggs, Justin Boggs and Evan Sturgill will serve as pallbearers.
