MAXIE BARNETTE

Maxie Barnette, 80, of Wise, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Heritage Hall Health Care in Wise.

She was a member of the New Assembly Pentecostal Church in Wise.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Barnette Sr.; her parents; and several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are a daughter, Judy Powers and husband Owen Sr.; two sons, Jerry Barnette Jr. and wife Trish and Billy Barnette and wife Frankie; four grandchildren, Owen Powers Jr., Matt Powers, Josh Barnette and Crystal Barnette; five great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Bethany, Jacob, William and Miriam; one great-grandchild, Lazarus; two sisters, Mary “Tince” Barnette and Sue Bray; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A special Thank You to the staff at Heritage Hall Health Care in Wise for the care they gave Maxie and her family while she was there.

Funeral Services for Maxie Barnette were conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Sturgill Funeral Home chapel in Wise with Pastor Owen Powers Jr. and Rev. Earnest Duncan officiating. Family received friends from 5 p.m. until time of services. Graveside committal services and burial were held at 11 a.m. Sunday in the Wise Cemetery.
