Scott honored for 45 years in education

Former students, friends and colleagues joined Billie Jean Scott (third from left) Friday, Aug. 13, to honor the retired educator at a celebration of her 80th birthday at the Lonesome Pine School and Heritage Center. With Scott are (from left) Big Stone Gap Town Manager Pat Murphy and Councilmen Gary P. Johnson, Greg "Butch" Dalton, and Leonard Rogers. The town presented Scott with a proclamation recognizing her 45 years as an educator.
