In a room busy with cats, dogs, people, Christmas and Santa PAWS photos, four-month-old Sally nuzzles close to Skyla Slemp of Big Stone Gap, who is providing a foster home for the pup. Sally was abandoned and then wound up at the animal shelter. Slemp and others with PAWS of Southwest Virginia help provide temporary care and shelter for homeless animals until permanent homes can be found. Sally is in need of a permanent home.
