Wise fire training center to get major upgrade

It may not look like much, but this building isn’t about aesthetics. What you see here is part of a planned training building at the Southwest Virginia fire training facility near the Lonesome Pine Airport. When it’s finished, firefighters, police, miners and others who train there will have twice the space and plenty of obstacles and challenges to prepare them for emergency situations. Two rooms in the building will be coated with a special substance to allow fires to be lit in them. THOMPSON & LITTON DRAWING.
