County officials urge proper flood clean-up

County emergency coordinator Jane Bennett reminds rural homeowners that they may qualify for loans or grants to cover the cost of bringing housing up to minimum safety standards, eliminating hazards from the dwelling. Grants are offered to only very low-income elderly homeowners, 62 years or older, according to literature provided by the USDA.
