Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority Executive Director/General Counsel Jonathan Belcher, right, presents a ceremonial check for $1 million to Wise County Industrial Development Authority Executive Director Brian Falin for development of the Elam Farm property. This includes a $700,000 grant and a $300,000 loan to help with the first two phases of work on the more than 200-acre property. Phase one is underway and the design of phase two should be completed within six month. A 65-acre “pad-ready” industrial site will be developed.
