DONALD JONES

Donald Jones, 84, of Norton, went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 29, 2020.

During his working years, Donald was a carpenter. He was the son of the late George Rufus Jones and Dollie Mullins Jones. Donald was also preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lee Jones, sister, Cleatis Short and two sons, Donald Ray Jones and Douglas Williams Sr. 

Surviving are his daughters Kathy Kilgore (Glenn) and Pam Jessee of Norton; his son, Larry Williams of Appalachia; his sister Thelma Gardner of Norton and Lillien Smith of Sandusky, OH; his brother Earl Jones (Shirley) of Norton and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to give appreciation to the people on the 4th Floor of Mountain View Regional Nursing Home, all the friends and family at Norton Pentecostal Church, and special caregivers Lavaughn Kern (granddaughter) and Debra Elliott. 

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 2 at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral service followed at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Roger Sloce officiating.

Friends and family will gather by 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where they will travel in procession to the Hill Cemetery for internment.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made towards the service at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home, 956 Park Avenue NW, Norton, VA 24273.
