Sean Brock and Travis Milton appearing at Barter March 4

February 27, 2020

James Beard Award–winning Chef Sean Brock will join Nicewonder Farm Culinary Director Travis Milton for a discussion around Appalachian heritage cooking at Barter Theatre’s Gilliam Stage on March 4 at 7 p.m.

Brock is a Pound native. Milton grew up in St. Paul.

Preceded by The New York Times bestselling cookbook “Heritage,” Sean Brock launched his sophomore cookbook “SOUTH” in October 2019. Fresh off his nationwide book tour, Brock will chat with Milton in a place close to where both were born and raised. These childhood friends will touch on everything from heritage foods to the incredible cultural and biological diversity of Appalachian cuisine, followed by audience Q&A. Individual admission includes a signed copy of “SOUTH” and photo ops with Brock & Milton following the conversation.

Tickets are on sale now for $50/per person at bartertheatre.com. A limited number of VIP tickets are available at $125 each by calling the Virginia Highlands Festival office at 276/451-8360. Proceeds from these sales will benefit programming for the 2020 festival.
