RITA HAMILTON

Rita Hamilton, 74, of Norton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.

She was of the Baptist faith and a retired CNA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bruce Hamilton; son-in-law, Daniel Sturgill; her parents, Casper Berlon and Julia Ann Vanover Layne; and several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are two daughters, Dana Sturgill of Pound and Angie Allison and husband Aaron of Saltville; son, Robert Hamilton and wife Roxanne of Duffield; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Dewey Layne of Alabama; three sisters, Gladys Mullins and Burita Morgan of Pennington Gap and Anna Willis of Coeburn; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Rita Hamilton will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 26 at the Sturgill Funeral Home chapel in Wise. Family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until time of services. Burial will be at a later date in the Wise Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital - 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
