SHIRLEY SUE VANOVER BEVINS

Shirley Sue Vanover Bevins, 68, of Wise, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 18, 2019.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Milittia Bevins; husband, Wiley E. Bevins Sr.; parents, Robert and Iola Vanover; sisters, Ann Adkins and Gwendolyn Sturgill; brother, Ricky Vanover; and son-in-law, Jeff Brickey.

Surviving are son, Wiley E. Bevins Jr. and wife Brenda; daughter, Roberta Brickey; daughter, Susanna Short and husband Robert; son, George Bevins and wife Leslie; five grandchildren, Kayla Skinner, Michael Skinner, Peyton Bevins, Alexis Bevins and Brody Bevins; sisters, Rose Balthis, Devonia Autrey, Faye Meade, Jackie Balthis, Marsha Plaster and Robin Hollyfield; brothers, Gene Vanover Sr.; James Vanover and Jeffrey Vanover; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Shirley Sue Vanover Bevins were conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 at the Sturgill Funeral Home chapel in Wise with Rev. James Vanover, Rev. Gene Vanover and Pastor Michael Skinner officiating. Family received friends from 5 p.m. until time of services. Graveside committal services and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the Wise Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession. Pallbearers will be George Bevins, Robert Short, Jr. Bevins, Nate Lane, Michael Skinner, Peyton Bevins, B.J. Garrison and Jason Hollyfield.
