GAYE DORTON FLEMING

Gaye Dorton Fleming, 81, of Wise, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Norton Community Hospital in Norton.

She was a born again Christian and was a proud graduate of Wise County Vocational Technical School’s LPN Program and retired after 30 years of service at Norton Community Hospital. Her greatest joy was her family and she devoted her life to them.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Stanley; second husband, Jack Fleming; three sons, Sammy Fleming, twins, Tom and Tim Stanley; parents; and several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Summey and husband Tommy and Becky Baird and husband Joe; three sons, Greg Stanley and wife Dee, Carl Stanley and wife Toni and Jackie Fleming and wife Crystal; 12 grandchildren, Jamie, Jason, T.J., Caleb, Jessica, Christopher, Jade, Josh, Brittany, Amber, Samuel and Isaiah; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Lars Dorton and wife Connie; two sisters, Ruth Johnson and Brenda Sue Branson and husband Tillman; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Gaye Dorton Fleming were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 at the Sturgill Funeral Home chapel in Wise with Rev. Lars Dorton and Pastor Tillman G. Branson officiating. Burial followed in the Wise Cemetery where grandsons served as pallbearers. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at the funeral home.
