Motorists beware: New brand of traffic in Appalachia

<p>Appalachia Town Manager Fred Luntsford holds one of the 25 signs being posted on all roads leading into town and roads leading into neighborhoods within the corporate limits. The term 'RVs on roadways' refers to the town's ordinance permitting vehicles such as four-wheelers or golf carts, when used within the town limits, to be driven as recreation vehicles at 25 miles an hour or less on town streets. Clerk/Treasurer Michele Hylton sits at the front desk where 'RV' decals are being sold at $20 each, after receipt of proof of inspection.</p>
