C. Bascom Slemp Memorial Library Supervisor Chris Smith was working on a research paper on Therapy Dogs when she got a call from a trainer offering to do a free program at the library. Smith is one of 16 recent recipients of a full scholarship to the University of Tennessee School of Information Sciences Information Technology Rural Librarian Master's Scholarship Program.
