Dakota Miller, an 8-year-old second grader at Wise Primary School, holds onto Charlotte, a tiny kitten he fostered until he found her a forever home. Dakota lives in Wise with his grandmother, Donna, who also fosters abandoned animals.

Wyllie Hall, the college’s new state-of-the-art nursing facility. Special guests included University of Virginia President James Ryan, former college chancellor Jay Lemons and others.
