GERALD STALLARD NEAL
Gerald Stallard Neal, 75, of Big Stone Gap, passed away at his home on Monday, May 27, 2019.
He was born on October 18, 1943 the son of the late Stallard and Willie “Clifton” Neal. He was a devoted Christian and active in the church community. Longtime member of the Appalachia Pentecostal Church, though he regularly attended many churches. He always enjoyed sharing the Lord with others. He was a longtime member of the Food City staff. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Neal of the home, Sue Ellen Neal of Duffield, Lora McCoy of Big Stone Gap, David Neal (Julie) of Christiansburg, Amanda Brinkley (Kendall) of Norton, grandchildren; Joey Lamb, James Lamb, Stephanie Dockery, Mark Harmon, Mathew Neal, Christopher Neal, Cadence Owens, Camilla Owens, nine great grandchildren, one sister, Betty Barker (Roger) of Wise, other close relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 31 at the Appalachia Pentecostal Church from 5 p.m. until 8 for the visitation. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 1 at 11 a.m. at Appalachia Pentecostal Church, with Dr. Roy Smith and pastor Roger Barker officiating. Family church/congregation members will provide special music. The graveside service will be held following, in American Legion Cemetery, family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
