Eva Louise Gover, 64, of Big Stone Gap, passed away early Sunday (Nov. 4, 2018) at Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.
She was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap, attended North Carolina A & T University, was a cook/server for Valero Convenience Store in Big Stone Gap and Subway in Wise, was a teacher and bus driver for Head Start in Wise County and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Appalachia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Eva (Stone) Gover Sr.; brothers, Alonzo Gover Jr., Lewis Gover and Harold Gover; and sister, Margie Evans.
Surviving are her sisters, Joyce Clayton, Barbara Gover and Sadie Gover, all of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Maurice (Cynthia) Gover of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and cousins; an aunt, Louise Bragg of Cleveland, Ohio; and a devoted sister-in-law, Parthenia Gover of Dayton, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Friday (Nov. 9) at Gilliam Funeral Home (618 Wood Ave., W.) in Big Stone Gap. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Sandra Jones of the Williams Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church officiating.
Services at Oakview Cemetery in Big Stone Gap will be private.
