A house in the Duncan Gap community apparently was destroyed or severely damaged by fire Wednesday night. However, very little additional information was available by press time Thursday. Maj. Grant Kilgore of the Wise County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Thursday that the fire on Quicksilver Road was called into the county’s 911 dispatch center at 9:48 p.m. Wednesday. Town of Wise fire and rescue units were dispatched, he said. According to a report on the incident, there does not appear to be anything suspicious or criminal about the fire, Kilgore said.
