A candlelight march from the First Church of God makes its way past the Wise courthouse Monday night as part of an event celebrating the life of Martin Luther King Jr. The march concluded at Wise Baptist Church, where the featured speaker was Jonathan Radford, a broadcast journalist who will pursue a divinity degree in the fall. Also, Rev. Justin Preston recited King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech, and music was provided by the Mt. Sinai Spirituals from Lynch, Ky. UVa-Wise’s Black History Committee organized the event.
