Anglers’ help sought in Flannagan fish study

If you enjoy fishing in John Flannagan Reservoir, the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries could use your help. DGIF invites anglers to assist a walleye and saugeye fisheries tagging study at the lake. A press release issued Feb. 3 states biologists will launch a study this month to better determine the level of catch-and-harvest for the lake’s walleye and saugeye fisheries. The study involves collecting and then tagging the fish with a three-inch plastic “spaghetti” tag before releasing them. DGIF needs anglers’ help in reporting any tagged walleye and saugeye that they catch. ...
