Wise County officials have just learned of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing of Penn Virginia Corp. and are as yet uncertain if the voluntary reorganization has or might have bearing on land and minerals here. Commissioner of Revenue Doug Mullins and Treasurer Delores Smith say their offices have received no notices that typically come with such bankruptcy procedures. Within the last two weeks, Smith said, she has been in discussion with Penn Virginia Operating Co.
