CLINCHCO - The Council Cobras (1-1) used a 7-0 scoring run to break a 20-20 halftime tie and held on to take a win in the opening round of the Farmers & Miners - Kiwanis Invitational tournament.

Chris Tiller led Council with 14 points, while Chris Fleming scored 14 points to lead Haysi.

ST.PAUL - Rachel Evans scored 22 points and Hannah Edmonds added 10 more to lead the Lady Deacons to a non-district win over Powell Valley.

The Lady Vikings (1-1) got 14 points from Lauren Schoolcraft, while Cassie Chadwell added 10.

Ervinton 63, Clintwood 42

CLINCHCO - The Ervinton Lady Rebels(1-0) opened the game with a 27-4 scoring run and cruised a win in the opening round of the Farmers & Miners Bank - Kiwanis Invitational tournament.

Kelly Rasnick led Ervinton's scorers with 28 points, while Chelsea Hill added 16.

Caitlyn Stanley finished with 26 points for Clintwood.
