COEBURN 67, TWIN SPRINGS 64

COEBURN - Holden Burke hit a basket with 39 seconds left to the play in the game to put the Blue Knights up 66-64 on the way to a big Cumberland District win.

Andrew Pate led Coeburn with 26 points and 18 rebounds, while Burke added 13 and Phillip Riner scored 12 for the Blue Knights (10-5, 6-1).

Twin Springs (7-8, 5-4) got 20 points and 10 rebounds from Kris Jordan, while David Campbell scored 12 and Seth Campbell added 10.

APPALACHIA 89, J.I. BURTON 47

NORTON - The Bulldogs (14-2, 4-2) eased to a Lonesome Pine District win.

Tyler Hall hit 5 of Appalachia's 10 3-point shots on the way to scoring a game-high 26 points.

Forrest Stuart added 18 points and Mladen Bogicevic finished with 12.

Burton (3-10, 1-5) got 16 points from Dylan Hunter and 15 from Tyler Robinette.

POWELL VALLEY 64, CLINTWOOD 38

CLINTWOOD - Tyler Garrison hit five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Vikings (16-1, 6-0) to a Lonesome Pine District win over the Greenwave (5-10, 2-4).

Tyler Vernon added 13 points for Powell Valley.

Clintwood got 18 points from Cameron Vanover.

HAYSI 59, TWIN VALLEY 42

SANDLICK - Haysi (8-7, 3-0) remained unbeaten and in first place in the Black Diamond District standings with a win over the Panthers (8-7, 2-2).

Byron Bowman led the Tigers with 25 points, while Chris Fleming added 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Twin Valley got 13 points from Josh Smith.

NORTON - The Lady Raiders, the top-ranked Group A team in the state, slowly pulled away from Appalachia on the way to a Lonesome Pine District victory.

Chelsea Forney led 4 Burton players in double-figure scoring with 12 points, while Ra'Shelle Miller finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Jessica Hensley and Brianna Stallard finished with 10 points each for the Lady Raiders (17-0, 6-0).

Appalachia (8-9, 2-4) go a team-high 9 points from Chelsey Boyd.

COEBURN 49, TWIN SPRINGS 35

COEBURN - The Lady Blue Knights (11-4, 7-0) got 14 points and 12 rebounds from Lindsay Lawson, while Samantha Perry added 14 points and Catherine Nixon scored 10 to stay unbeaten in the Cumberland District.

Twin Springs (3-12, 2-7) got 13 points apiece from Ashley McConnell and Temera Campbell.

POWELL VALLEY 59, CLINTWOOD 48

CLINTWOOD - Tasha Trent scored a game-high 22 points and surpassed the 1,000-point mark for her career as the Lady Vikings (9-8, 3-3) picked up a Lonesome Pine District road win.

Brittany Bishop added 14 points for Powell Valley, while Lauren Schoolcraft scored 10.

Clintwood (5-11, 0-6) got 17 points from Hope Dotson.

TWIN VALLEY 62, HAYSI 52

HAYSI - Katie Jo Lester scored 34 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead the Lady Panthers (11-4, 4-0) to the Black Diamond District win.

Traci Edwards led Haysi (6-7, 2-1) with 21 points.
