APPALACHIA - The host Bulldogs (9-0) trailed Rye Cove 12-8 after the 1st quarter, but opened up the 2nd period with a 15-0 scoring run to pull away for the win.

Forrest Stuart led Appalachia with 20 points, while Tyler finished with 11 points for the Bulldogs.

Devon Wells led the Eagles (1-8) with 14 points.

ST. PAUL 46, CLINTWOOD 41

ST. PAUL - Tyler Phillips scored 14 points to lead the Deacons to a non-district win over Clintwood.

Cameron Vanover led the Greenwave scorers with 14 points, while Trey Meade added 13 points for Clintwood.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS...

CLINTWOOD 45, ST. PAUL 39

ST. PAUL - Hope Dotson scored 14 points and Katie Scott added 11 to lead the Lady Greenwave to a non-district win over St. Paul.

Clintwood held a slim 33-31 margin heading into the 4th quarter, but outscored the Lady Deacons 12-8 in the final period to take the win.

Hannah Edmonds led St. Paul with 13 points, while Alyssa Young added 12 points for the Lady Deacons.

J.J. KELLY 37, RYE COVE 32

WISE - The Lady Indians (8-2) held off a furious 4th-quarter effort by Rye Cove (2-9) to take a non-district win.

Kelly led 31-20 after 3 quarters, but the Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Indians 12-6 in the final period to make things interesting.

Kaley Mullins led Kelly's scorers with 12 points, while Shasta Edwards finished with 11 points for Rye Cove.
