APPALACHIA 49, LEE 33

APPALACHIA - The Bulldogs scored the first 14 points of the 3rd quarter and pulled away for the win in the semifinal game of the Coal Classic.

Forrest Stuart scored 17 points to lead Appalachia (7-0), while Mladen Bogicevic added 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Lee (3-3) got 13 points each from Tyler Maggard and Caleb Bledsoe.



HARLAN (KY.) 67, RYE COVE 41

APPALACHIA - The Green Dragons (3-5) outscored Ry Cove 36-16 in the second half to pull away for a 1st-round win in the Coal Classic.

Steven Couch scored 14 points to lead Harlan, while Chris Begley scored 12 points and Brandon Taylor added 10 for the Dragons.

Rye Cove (0-8) got 13 points from Devon Wells.

LEBANON 62, J.I. BURTON 44

CLINTWOOD - The Pioneers held Burton scoreless for over five minutes of the first quarter to set the tone for the game in the opening round of the Greenwave Classic.

Andrew Jessee scored a game-high 18 points for Lebanon (4-1), while Timmy Goins led Burton (0-1) with 12 points.

HAYSI 65, J.J. KELLY 47

CLINTWOOD - Chris Fleming scored 29 points and Byron Bowman added 18 to a lead the Tigers (3-2) to a win over the Indians (3-3) in the opening round of the Greenwave Classic.

Kelly got 14 points from Aaron Clark, while Alex Couch added 13.

CHEROKEE (TENN.) 61, GATE CITY 52

BRISTOL (TENN.) - Cherokee eliminated the Blue Devils from the Arby's Classic by outscoring Gate City 27-20 in the second half.

Logan Baliff led Cherokee with 23 points, while Gate City got 11 points each from Jordan Potts and Paul Arnold.

J.I. BURTON 63, RYE COVE 26

APPALACHIA - The Lady Raiders kept perfect on the season by jumping out to a 14-4 lead and coasting to the win in the semifinal round of the Coal Classic.

RaShelle Miller led the Lady Raider scorers with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 steals, while Brianna Stallard added 16 for Burton (7-0).

Shasta Edwards scored 8 points to lead Rye Cove (1-8).

J.J. KELLY 55, APPALACHIA 45

APPALACHIA - J.J. Kelly (7-1) outrebounded Appalachia 41-17 on the way to a semifinal win in the Coal Classic.

Andrea Hopkins led a balanced attack for the Lady Indians with 15 points, while Kaely Mullins scored 14 and Ashley Mullins finished with 12.

Appalachia (5-3) got 14 points from Teryn Mullins and 12 points from Hannah Gosshennig, while Chelsey Boyd finished with 10.

POUND 58, COEBURN 52

APPALACHIA - The Lady Wildcats (6-3) overcame 44-33 deficit in the fourth quarter by outscoring Coeburn 25-8 in the final period in the consolation round of the Coal Classic.

Samantha Balthis led the Pound attack with 18 points, while Laura Carter added 15 points and Jenna Stallard finished with 11.

Hayley Wyrick led Coeburn (3-3) with 15 points.

POWELL VALLEY 71, ST. PAUL 52

APPALACHIA - Lauren Schoolcraft scored 28 points to lead Powell Valley to a consolation-round win in the Coal Classic.

Brittany Bishop added 20 points and Tasha Trent scored 13 to lead the Lady Vikings (4-2).
