Rye Cove teammates Charity Lawson and Leah Miller have been named as the Cumberland District volleyball co-players of the year.
The team, which was announced Friday, also includes Coeburn's Lindsay Lawson as hitter of the year, Rye Cove's Jasmine Carter as setter of the year and Twin Springs' Ashley Parks as libero of the year.
Rye Cove's Greg Gilliam was named as the district's coach of the year.
The district's first team includes Charity Lawson, Miller and Lindsay Lawson, along with Castlewood's Ali Ring, Coeburn's Kala Morgan, and Twin Springs' Randi Hillman and Ashley McConnell.
Carter and Parks head the second-team picks which also include Rye Cove's Paige Tester, Thomas Walker's Ashley Hensley and Shawnte Goodman and Castlewood's Haley Gilbert.
Honorable mentions went to Coeburn's Catherine Nixon, Hannah Light and Lauren McCoy; Thomas Walker's Maranda Miles; Rye Cove's Hilary Grizzle; Twin Springs' Jennifer Devine and Morgan Weddle and Castlewood's Kristen Johnson and Brittany Osborne.
