The Dickenson County Fair is in full swing this week and plenty of fun and entertainment are planned through Saturday, from music concerts and a 4-H talent show to a truck pull and horse show.
• Wednesday, July 30. Horse shoe pitching, volleyball and a remote control car race are planned. Coal Creek will provide entertainment at 6 p.m., followed by Folk Soul Revival at 8 p.m.
• Thursday, July 31. The evening offers $15 arm bands for kids inflatables, UR and MMA fights, and a barbecue cook-off. The Patriots take the stage at 6 p.m. followed by Patricia Cantrell and High Country at 8 p.m.
• Friday, Aug. 1. Events will include a kiddie tractor pull, truck pull, corn hole tournament, 4-H Share the Fun contest, and musical entertainment by the Charlie Edwards Band at 8 p.m. and a karaoke contest at 9 p.m.
• Saturday, Aug. 2. The fair winds up with a Mud And Muck Run, barn activities, a battle of the bluegrass bands, flat-footing contest and the Haysi Kiwanis Memorial Horse Show.
