Description:

The Nevada Humane Society Duck Race & Festival is swimming back to Reno for a fourth year in a row with a goal to find adopters for 15,000 rubber ducks. All proceeds to benefit the community’s homeless pets.

Adoption season is already underway and the fun continues through the Duck Race & Festival on August 25 in downtown Reno. 15,000 bright yellow rubber ducks will race to the finish line in the Truckee River at 4pm, raising money and awareness for the cause of homeless pets.

The fastest rubber ducks will win exciting prizes, including a New Orleans Vacation, Sierra Golf Getaway, Pampered Pet Package, Dine Around Reno-Tahoe Package, and more! All entries have a chance of winning a $400K cash prize.

Ducks can be adopted for $5 each at Nevada Humane Society, 2825 Longley Lane, Reno, online, or at a variety of community events, farmers’ markets, and major stores between now and event day. Visit NevadaHumaneSociety.org to adopt online and for a complete list of community adoption locations.

The Festival on August 25 will include live entertainment, clowns, carnival games, raffles, vendors and a variety of refreshments. Dogs and cats from Nevada Humane Society will be there in search of loving homes, but please remember to leave your pet at home—City of Reno Park Regulations do not allow dogs at special events. The only pets allowed will be adoptable pets from NHS and service dogs.

The Duck Race & Festival is free and open to the public. For more information, please call 775-856-2000 ext. 324 or visit NevadaHumaneSociety.org.
