A Wise County grand jury has indicted three area residents for alleged drug crimes, while charging another resident with alleged theft.

Those indicted May 15 include:

• Michael Colton Cochran, 30, 1993 Hwy. 421, Pennington Gap: One count of possessing a Schedule II drug with intent to distribute, punishable by up to 40 years; one count of possessing a Schedule II drug, punishable by up to 10 years; one count of possessing a Schedule II drug while possessing a firearm, punishable by two to 10 years; one count of possessing marijuana with intent to distribute, punishable by up to 10 years; one count of obstructing justice, punishable by up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine.

• Joshua Shane Carroll, 29, 215 W. Main St., Appalachia: One count of possessing a Schedule I or II drug, punishable by up to 10 years.

• Jamie Collin Jessee, 40, 343 Callahan Ave., Appalachia: One count of possessing a Schedule I or II drug, punishable by up to 10 years.

• Monica Stallard, 30, 748 Howard Ave., Big Stone Gap: One count of grand larceny of a firearm, punishable by up to 20 years in prison; one count of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, punishable by two to 10 years; seven counts of forgery, each punishable by up to 10 years; seven counts of uttering a forged check, each punishable by up to 10 years; one count of petit larceny, second or subsequent offense, punishable by up to a year in jail; seven counts of obtaining by false pretense, each punishable by up to a year in jail.
