Hog markets saw some fears eased Wednesday. “October hogs closed sharply higher on the session and near the highs of the day but with an inside trading session,” the Hightower Report said. “Mixed trade in cattle futures helped to ease some fears of weaker demand as the jump in beef prices could mean pork values will stay competitive.”

“Ideas that China will need more imports from somewhere and that the US may see better exports ahead helped to support,” the Hightower Report said. “In addition, the large discount to cash has eased selling pressures.”
