The Clintwood Farmers Market opens for its sixth year Friday, June 14. Hours of operation will be from 1 – 6 p.m. every Friday.
Dickenson County Extension Agent Brad Mullins said vendors and customers alike have been very pleased with the market and organizers are anticipating a bigger and better season this year.
The farmers market will be located on Chase Street in Clintwood in the parking lot on the left between the Jettie Baker Center and Food City. The market was located here in the past, Mullins said, and it seems to be the most popular and convenient location for vendors and consumers alike.
Healthy Bucks at the farmers market continue to be offered thanks to the Columbus Phipps Foundation. A very popular feature of the market, the program encourages children to purchase and consume more fruits and vegetables. Children ages 2-16 who visit the farmers market with a parent/guardian receive five $1 vouchers. Children can spend those vouchers to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs and nuts.
For more information or to register as a market vendor, call the Dickenson County Extension Office at 276-926-4605. No yard sale items are allowed.
