The 106th annual Virginia-Kentucky District Fair opens Monday at the Shelcy Mullins Fairgrounds in Wise and features fun for the family from the main stage to the horse arena and beyond on June 3-8.
Gate admission is just $10 for ages 18 and up, $5 for ages 5-18 and kids under 5 enter free. One-price rides are featured nightly from 5-11 p.m.
Gate admission covers all shows, with concerts Wednesday through Saturday on the main stage and elsewhere on the grounds throughout the week. See the demolition derby, pro wrestling, ATV racing, motocross, truck drags, bull riding and more.
The horse show is Saturday. Kids Day is Wednesday and Saturday and Senior Citizens Day is Thursday.
Gates open at 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday and Saturday and at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
The fair opens Monday with the Miss Virginia-Kentucky District Fair Scholarship Pageant from 8-11 p.m. Also on Monday is the second annual Auto World Demolition Derby beginning at 7 p.m.
Pageantry continues Tuesday, June 4, with the Miss Virginia-Kentucky District Fair Junior and baby pageants. Tuesday also sees the return of professional wrestling as well as the first-ever truck dirt drags. Those events start at 7 p.m.
Bull riding is Wednesday and Thursday, ATV racing is Thursday and motocross is Friday.
Main stage concerts feature Amber Graham opening for Logan Mize on Wednesday, Brandon Osborne opening for Folk Soul Revival on Thursday, Corey Harris opening for Joe Diffie on Friday and closing out Saturday is The Fatty Livers followed by Hillbilly Jed. Opening acts begin at 7 p.m., followed by the headliner at 8 p.m.
